Mentoring, coaching & workshops

A little perspective
goes a long way.

I’ve built products, run a business, mentored with Techstars and spent years in front of audiences. These days, I bring that experience to conversations with teams and individuals.

Experience.
Without the script.

Sometimes you need practical advice. Sometimes you need someone to ask the question you’ve been avoiding.

My approach is direct, curious and grounded in work I’ve done myself. We start with your circumstances, talk honestly about what’s getting in the way, and find a next step that makes sense for you.

A sense of humour helps. So does being willing to say, “I don’t know—let’s work it out.”

For companies

People working
better together.

I work with teams on communication, collaboration and the thinking behind better products.

These are some of the workshops I run, drawing on years in product design, business and stand-up. Practical conversations, a little humour and plenty of room to get involved.

Funny Business

Communication and collaboration, with a little stagecraft. Lessons from product teams and the comedy stage, put into practice together.

We work on telling a story, building a presentation and speaking with confidence. There’s room for humour, too: how it helps people engage, connect and work better together.

Expect storytelling exercises, presenting and plenty of participation. The aim is clearer communication that carries back into everyday work.

UX Boot Camp

A one-day introduction to the value of UX for founders, managers and stakeholders. Better questions, better decisions and a better relationship with design.

We walk through the design process: understanding people’s needs, researching a problem, making prototypes and testing ideas before committing to them.

You’ll get a clearer picture of what designers bring to a business, when to involve them and how to make informed decisions about UX hires and investment.

Product thinking

Start with the business problem, before jumping to a feature. A workshop about working out what’s worth building—and why.

We connect the problem a business needs to solve with the needs of the people using its product. What are we assuming? What do we need to learn? Would another feature actually help?

The conversation centres on your team’s challenges: questioning assumptions, exploring possible solutions and deciding how you’ll know whether they’re working.

For individuals · one to one

Your career.
Your version of success.

A career should make room for the life you want to live.

I mentor designers, freelancers and independent professionals who are finding their feet, changing direction or deciding what comes next. We might work through positioning, pricing, a portfolio, a difficult client or the confidence to make a change.

The point is to understand your strengths and options—and leave with something you can act on. You don’t need to follow my path to find yours.

Some things start with a conversation.

Coaching and mentoring remain part of what I do, for companies and one to one. If something here sounds relevant, you’re welcome to reach out and we can see whether it’s a good fit.
